We are 4 guys living and working in Bangkok all with our own successful businesses. With between us more than 100 years experience in Thailand in our own professional fields we are here to tell it as it is. No affiliation, no back tapping our mates, just "The FACTS".

Lets set the clock back to many many years ago. A Frencman moved from his homeland to Bangkok in the hopes of a fresh start after doing some, less than questionable things. This fine man was a builder, not only that but a very good one. Coming to Bangkok he noticed that a lot of the building standards where very bad at that time. He plan to move into the construction industry.

Trying to get himself a job as a builder or even as a project head was not easy in Bangkok. With some cash in his pocket, what he decided to do was set him self up with some show pieces. He rented a place on soi 7/1 and got to work. He made himself a show piece bar made of wood, a real nice looking bar. Then more and more show pieced in a hope of showing off his skills. This bar on soi 7/1 was then bought by a company called The Privilege Group. The bar was turned into a hostess bar, high end, top ladies, expensive beers and long cocktail dresses for all. It did well but in the end the partners decided to move on.

A short time later a few investors in the bar industry started to look at this site and wanted to run something there. The fact is that they are investors not bar managers so they went on the hunt for a good bar manager and they found one in another bar not far away. Not connected to the original builder of the bar but strangely enough, another Frenchman. They offered him a job as a manager at there bar on soi 7/1. He excepts.

The story gets a bit blurred for this point in time but over a few years, months, who knows? the place was turned from a bar to a brothel that rented rooms in a local hotel and specialized in taking 2 ladies or more. The manager for his good work was offered a share in the business. From there is went on to be one of the the few major success stories in the Bangkok nightlife industry. It become such a focal point that bars started to open around it, include live music bars and other smaller themed beer bars. Small restaurants, hotels and on and on. The soi was turning into a booming little baby and for even a few months may have been one of the main points of the Bangkok nightlife industry for non Thai’s

For what ever reason that I may or may not know, all the owners sold up to some other nightlife people and even though money was put into the business once they bought it, it went down hill for the most.

A live music venue nearby that opened near the same time of the change of hands of the business, for while was looking and doing very well but again, they seemed to have missed the boat on longevity of customer retention. A gogo bar opened in the soi and even though the place when it first opened I actually really liked, again seems to have gone down the pan. At one point at the soi high point it had a late night Disco, that was one of the only ones in Bangkok at the time and was so full every night it was hard to get in, well that has gone. Up util a few months ago the beers bars look old dirty and empty for the most and are not being looked after. The soi has fallen to maybe even a worse state than it has ever been in since the first Frenchman took his bold step to build a bar there.

Present day.

In the last few months one of the my favorite English style bars has moved from its long time home of soi 11 to soi 7/1, they have not only moved to a better location but the insides look much better, it has a nice sit outside area and looks great. Busy as well. One Australian bar even though needing a clean up has also started to get in many customers and has become a real popular place. Now Annie’s seems to be spreading its wings and are opening a bj bar called “Dr BJ’s Salon” which seems to be a themed BJ bar. Www.bjbarbangkok.com It seem very well lit and decorated to a high level. Rumors are that 2 other bars in the soi will also be taken over soon by investors that are interested in making these places new and fresh.

Is this the start of the rebirth of soi 7/1? I hope so. It never seemed right to me that a soi in such a perfect location would do so bad, even more so after doing so well. I for one think this is the start of the soi’s rebirth and we are going to see some amazing things coming out of it. As soon as I know more I blog and bit more

Signing off

Long time since I have been giving updates but all for good reasons and there will be a lot more to come from me and also a new member of the team who will be joining us in October and offering his inside the industry views.

First let me point out that soi cowboy is back to its former safe position, I have the feeling the reason for the short spell of crazy taxi drivers causing issues, was due to a small set of problems with local bars. Good news anyway, it is all clear.

Business in Bangkok nightlife in general is down (my places are ok and we are opening more anyway as we are more specialized anyway) Demographic numbers are interesting as well, down in visitors from countries such as USA/UK/Germany and Japan, numbers are up from countries such as India, China, Vietnam Malaysia etc.

Incite to the business today

The smaller bars which, when I go out are my favourites, are being hit really bad in the Nana area since the opening of bars like Bar4 and Strikers. These bars because of their size, size, location and capacity can offer beers at the great price of 60/65 baht all day. On the face of this, even I have to agree that I went to these bars and enjoyed drinking cold beers, with nice ladies around me and even good company from other customers at this amazing price, but there are hidden costs to this.

One of the things I hate about Bangkok is that on Sukhumvit road in between Soi 1 and 23 there is 500 Indian suit shops, basically all owned by the same 5 families all outsourcing their work to 3 real tailors that over moat of Bangkok. There are 1000 mobile phone shops in MBK, monopolized by the same 3 groups. Well what we have now, is all the small local, once cool bars to trek around are now empty all day and night, meaning these places will be closing soon, and what will happen? I can tell you this, as I know the plan already, these bars will all close and be replaced with one big bar. This means the once fantastic soi known as soi 4 Nana, full of those interesting nook and cranny bars that you can walk in and out of and see a mix of bar styles and mix of people will be cut down to, Nana plaza, and 3 big ass bars, the area will be dead. All the people that once made a living, not a good one but ok from their small bars, will be out and you will have Strikers, Bar4 and bar whatever they are going to call it when the land is free.

I do not own any bars or places on soi 4 and I never would, but I like soi 4. I am asking anyone that reads this post, go to the bars on soi 4 the small ones, buy a beer, ok that are 20baht more than the big ass places around the corner, Yes of course go to the big bars, I do, but do not forget their little brothers or they will forget you and we can forget the soi Nana of today and get the soi Nana of tomorrow which will not be as good place.

See you in a small bar soon.

From the start of my days here I always was a fan of Soi cowboy. To be honest I preferred Patphong to Nana plaza as it had a warm local feel to it. Nana plaza always seemed to be full of chick’s that wanted to find a way of getting out of working and do it for the most amount of money they could.

Soi cow boy from my experiences had more western owners, or the Thai owners that seemed to be well into the western way of running places and as such made sure the staff gave there clients a much better time.

As Soi cowboy got more busy and Nana plaza got more quite what do you think happened? That’s right, Soi cowboy to me now is the same as Nana plaza was years ago but with a worse twist.

OK I have to come out in the open about this, I have interests in both Nana Plaza and Soi Cowboy. Both small but both are good to me but as I have said before I post these as a customer not as a person with interests in businesses here.

Besides the changing of the women’s attitude to the Nana plaza of old, I have noticed a large amount of door men sitting outside places now, plus the ever increasing padding of bills that if you do not want to pay, you get the door man in your face.

From about 1 year ago I have also noticed more and more fights, mainly antagonized by the local Thai males hanging around but the stupid drunk visitors seem to think that they can hold there own in a fight here, which if they followed the Queensbury rules on the streets here they would be right but if you pick a fight on a Thai here, 5000 of them all push you to the ground and stamp your face in until you are either dead or you have to go to hospital for 6 months. Every time I see this, which for the most has been in soi cowboy I always scream in Thai once it is over, How brave all you animals are. To which they come over and smile at me as they think I am complimenting them not being sarcastic.

Due to some business issues I have in the last 4 days had to go to soi cowboy for work.
On each of the 4 days I have seen fights and all for the same reasons. The people causing them are the black taxi drivers that hang out on both sides of the entrances to soi cowboy.

This is what happens.
You walk past them with the lady of your choice or no lady if you could not find anything to take your fancy, they say, “taxi sir taxi” and you say no. Then one jumps in front of you and shouts, “TAXI!!!” AT you, you try to walk past him, they move in front of you up to your face, you then push them out of the way, then 5000 taxi drivers all come out and kick the sh1t out of you.

The reason for me posting this is, a none beaten customer is one that comes back. I will say this for the moment, keep away from the soi cowboy taxis. If you walk out and they come towards you, walk back into soi cowboy and wait. On my 3rd night I actually saw this happen 5 times all in the space of a few hours. The women know about it and they are prepared, As they walk out and they see the taxi drivers they are already shouting “Par lew, Par lew” enough enough before anything has even happened.

Soi cowboy has now become a place of women that are trying to rip off the customer, over priced drinks, padding bills with door man and now gangs of violent taxi drivers wanting to take out there problems on the tourists they are trying to attract.

I have the feeling that the taxi driver issue this will get better once the major number of tourists start moving back into Bangkok as before. As to the women’s attitudes, bill padding and door man, I think this will stay the same. From now on its Nana for me as it feels like I am wanted there. Patphong has some great new places and I think us as customers should show the way we feel with our baht and move to places that ok, may not have the super star looking staff buts we get treated well and there is not gangs of taxi drivers waiting to kick the crap out of us for saying no.

By the way Jack knows this, when I walk around SC and Nana plaza I always have 3 Thai’s with me so I am not posting this due to anything happening to me as things do not happen to me here. This is purely a heads up for readers. Until things get better stay away from soi cowboy.

The Unnecessary War

By: TPE II On May 29, 2010

Bangkok (aka) Krung Thep Maha Nakhon.

As Sir Winston Leonard Spencer Churchill (1874-1965) once said:

“One day President Roosevelt told me that he was asking publicly for suggestions about what the war should be called. I said at once ‘The Unnecessary War’. “

Sir Winston Churchill, Second World War (1948) British politician (1874 – 1965)

While the recent disturbances in Bangkok could hardly be called a war, I wonder what Sir Winston Churchill would say today about those events in Bangkok?

I am not taking sides, because I am not a Thai Citizen and therefore I do not have the legal right to take sides. I also do not have the moral right to take sides. It’s Thailand’s problem and we should keep our long Farang noses out…

Those 2 Farangs who did jump onto the bandwagon and “took sides” (for whatever reason in the heat of the moment) must now be regretting their foolish actions.

It was a situation where simple common sense should have prevailed, but it appears common sense is not so common amongst the common man after all.

Whereas stupidity seems to be a common trait of a simple mind.

One thing they (who must be punished) have gotten out of it is their own 15 minutes of fame…

But we can’t all be perfect now can we; otherwise this would be a really boring world to live in and what would all those posters on the various forums talk about?

When this latest struggle against the status quo ante bellum began I am sure most readers will agree with me when I say I never expected it to go on for so long. Nor did I expect it to end as tragically as it did.

In my opinion, it could have been much worse were it not for the amazing restraint shown by those young soldiers who were operating under some pretty difficult circumstances.

They too may need some professional counseling and a show of gratitude by those in power and the general public….

But this is amazing Thailand and although some things don’t make sense to our westernized minds, it is somehow tolerate or even accepted in the Asian mindset.

Today, there are deeps wounds in the fabric of Thai society and they will take a long time to heal.

If they ever do! One way we can all help is to support Thailand and its people, no matter what color shirt they wear, and in doing so we will ultimately help ourselves. Now is not the time to cast blame.

Thailand will never be as it once was “The land Of Smiles” and who are we, as the outsider, to expect that it should not change just to suite our ideal of a fantasy land where dreams come true on a budget!

Look at world in general and especially SEA. All around Thailand countries are changing, evolving and developing at an exponential rate. China is a very good example and others will surly follow.

Just accept the changes as the natural course of events and you won’t be disappointed.

I am not a believer in any imaginary god figure nor any other mystical guy in the sky but these words are quite apt at this point.

“God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.”

Reinhold Niebuhr quotes (American theologian, 1892-1971)

Thailand is as safe as it ever was! UNLESS you enter an area that has been designated out of bounds and yet you still persist in going there anyway even with the knowledge that danger is lurking round every corner.

Most major city’s can be considered safe even if they have a “No Go” area where even the local police are hesitant to venture unless it is deemed necessary.

Bangkok is one of those major cities’s that is as safe as any in the world and probably safer than most because for now at least the criminal element is being targeted by the authorities and that is not a bad thing, unless you are a criminal…

My motto: Go to a Go-Go not a No-Go!

So ask yourself what can I do to make a difference?

One thing you can do is to encourage your friends and family to visit Thailand and see for themselves just how amazing it is now. Never mind what it was like back in the day… It’s right now that is important.

Thailand is as safe as you want t to be.

I was advised to keep my head down by some very influential people and that is exactly what I did.

Yes I was curious to see what was happening on my doorstep. Who wouldn’t be?

But I never went anywhere near the area of conflict.

I was not trapped as such but I was there in the thick of it, I must admit I was tempted to take a walk around. And even though I certainly have the equipment to get some really interesting footage (its my profession) I held back and common sense prevailed.

I get enough adrenalin in my job I don’t need any more thank you.

I would rather be chilled than killed, so I filled the fridge with beer and caught up on some movies…

In the end I could hear the commotion and smell and see the smoke rising and that was surreal.

Then there was this eerie peace and quiet as the curfew was put into place. I looked out of my window and there was nothing no lights, no people, no cars nothing, except soldiers on duty…

It reminded me of Berlin East Germany when I was there before the wall came down. Now that was surreal but one soon got used to it.

The same as we got used to the situation in BKK.

The same “people in the know” who advised me not to go out have since given the all clear and said it’s as safe as it ever was.

Now I dont know about you but as a by product of my former career in the security field and my current occupation, I have to be very observant and I am always wary of that package left on it’s own. Now I will even more diligent and observant.

I ask that you do the same; diligent observation at all times, can save lives, or at the very least prevent crimes.

That’s my quote above and as I started this off with a quote from the great man himself it is only fitting that I end this with another quote from Sir Winston Churchill.

Now this is not the end..”

It is not even the beginning of the end.

But it is, perhaps, the beginning of the end.

Sir Winston Churchill, Speech in November 1942 British politician (1874 – 1965)

Peace and prosperity to all…

Ps. Do not kill the messenger!

Why does 90% of the nightlife venues in the western areas of Bangkok look like crap and the Thai ones look beautiful??????

I will answer this with bullet points and give and ending question to make it all clear.

Land prices in the non Thai areas of Bangkok are triple that of the equivalent land in the Thai areas.
None Thai’s can not own land in Thailand, full stop, it’s The Truth, no amount of smart paperwork can get you around it and even if you have found a way of owning it for a while, it is still not yours, you can not give it to anyone when you die and I bet the day you buy the land some strange bylaw in Thailand will change and you will loose everything.

Rich Thai’s that can afford land to buy in the western areas would not been seen dead owning business there.

80% of the businesses owned in the non Thai areas are owned by non Thai’s.

The remaining 20% of the business are owned by Thai’s that are willing to have a business in none Thai areas as they cannot afford to buy land anyway, so why not rent in the non Thai parts? Reason being, you can have a place that looks like crap (no major investment) as they all do in these areas and customers still come in. If you rent a place in a Thai area for nightlife and it looks like crap, you get crap. If it looks like crap in the non Thai areas, you get a mix all the time.

If you have the money to rent in the non Thai places regardless of you being Thai or not and you make is look swish and nice to get in more customers the following happens.

A: The people we do not like to talk about step in and look around and the first thing that comes to mind is  “mmmmm, rich, they can give me more money for……
loud music, wrong colour fire extinguishers, wrong cigarette licenses, wrong lights open after 4:00pm etc etc etc.

B: You get a roaring trade over the 3 year lease of your place and the owner of the land sees this and when the rent is due to change for the new contract instead of 40000baht a month it is 4000000baht a month. If the contract is not due for change the illegal Seng (key money) that all non Thai’s or poor Thais with no friends in high places are forced to pay, turns from 1million baht a year to 30000000 a year. If you do not pay you will be caught on a technicality in the contract you signed for the rent, or the owner of the land has some very powerful people that we do not like to talk about as friends and then (see letter A)

The question is, would you want a swish high end looking place in a non Thai area of Bangkok nightlife.???????

This is why there is none.

This report  is about trying to get rid of some of the stupid myths I have been reading on the big forums in the last few weeks.

“The red shirt protests is all good news for P4P hunters in Bangkok as the women get less work so prices go down”

Have you ever heard of sods law, this means that if you drop a piece of bread on the floor, it always lands butter side down, or if you are going to catch a bus, while you are walking to the bus stop every time you just miss one and 5 go the other way. Or try of you are waiting at a checkout at a supermarket the other lines always go faster than yours. It goes on, the fact is there is no such thing as sods law. What happens is, you always remember the negative, so when you ask a women how much short time? she says “5000”, you will remember her, the one you ask that says 1000, you will forget. This means that you have been in the past offered 1000 and you may have even taken it but you will forget about and just pine on the 5000 women all the time. Prices on the street girls will not go down in fact Thai people in times of money problems as in no customers put the prices up. The way it works is, before I would get 2 customers a day and I need to make 5000 baht a day this means I should charge 2500. Now I am only getting 1 customer every 2 days so I should charge 10000. These are just any numbers but I am sure you get the formula.

On a side note superstars always work, even in time of low customers they still get a big share.

Now the real problem with this and it has hit my places and I would like to ask Aey if it has hit hers as I am sure it has, if you have 100 ladies and they get 5 customers a day and now they only get 1, what do you think they will do. Yes you guessed it, they move on. They can not move onto other tourist based places so where do they go, yes again you guessed it, they either move to Thai places (please read my reports about them) or they leave Thailand and work in Singapore Hong Kong etc. Even more interesting is ladies just giving up the job altogether. There are not many staff that really enjoy the job and from day to day in the back of there mind they are always wanting to leave, I can hear them in there minds now, “Do not like the job, thinking of leaving and working back home or in a factory, no customers now ok time for a change”

Added to this places closing (less choice of venues)

This means the lower customer level is only bad for the clients in the end. Think of the coal mine industry in the UK during the 80’s. The lack of coal did not mean it become more competitive, it meant all the coal mines closed thousands of workers become unemployed and they had to change careers. Since then the coal mine industry in the UK had never bounced back. This may happen in Bangkok/Thailand because of the low level of customers now. The western media has blown this totally out of all propositions.

30 something people dead because of the protest, and the only non Thai’s that dies where reporters running around the trouble areas with cameras. Well play with fire you get burned. Stay out of the areas and you will not know that anything was going on. The final stupid thing for me is that over 900 people in total died over Thai new year and more none Thais flew into Thailand for that. Does something not seem correct with this? 30 people stay away, 900 people fly in.

This situation can only means

Less ladies
Less venues
Higher prices.

I know this does not seem right compared to western businesses as well as mentality, but wait…. this is not the west and the rules are different here. Face it, shut up. it’s The Truth. This very low level of tourists is killing this industry from the inside out.

My last report was about some of the utterly stupid reasons I here people give for not offering a tip to working girls even though they feel the service they was given did deserve it.

I have today one final one, and this one really really is stupid. On the surface to a selfish prick maybe it is a good reason but note, I used the word selfish, as this is what this is. The customer is not thinking of the girl, he has just spent his time with.

Now what I should add is through these reports about tipping it seems I am taking the side of the ladies but what I want the readers to understand is that I see if from the customers side also as ,dam it I am a customer also. Every time I do a report like this I always explain, “no tip given even though they feel the service they was given did deserve it”. If the customer just can not afford it then I can understand this but they are being selfish as they feel the lady deserved one and they can afford it. What the customer is doing is looking for an excuse to convince them self not to offer a tip because they are selfish and tight. It is far more easy for a none Thai just to turn around and say, “I do not tip”, or “I do not have the money” 95% of Thai people will be ok and think no more of it.

Here is the final one and it is so stupid it deserves it own report.

The reason is.

I will not tip the lady, I will just be a regular customer of hers and this way she will get better money in the end and she should be grateful as I am choosing her not another girl for my session. A session from me is better than no session from me, is it not?

On the surface this seems a smart move for both lady and customer.

Let’s look more deeply into this.

I will add to the below before you read it that this is only a dumb reason if the lady is working in a popular place that has many customers. If the lady in question is working for a place without many customers, than I can excuse this reason. By default it is a popular place so there would be more customers using this stupid excuse.

Ladies point of view.
I get 5 customers a day normally, I offer the best service I can and I try hard everyday for my money, What I also hope for is that customers offer me a little tip for my hard work. I have 10 regular customers, 8 of them offer me tips as long as I have the energy to offer the best service I can and they show if I have not offered my best by not giving me a tip and this I understand. 2 of my regulars never give me a tip. This is a pain, as of course when I am working with them, yes I get the normal same amount I would get off any other client but I never ever get any extra off them, no matter how hard I try. This means I am not on the shop floor trying to get another regular customer that may offer me a tip or even a one off guy that will offer me a bigger one. I am not concerned about this guy coming in all the time as in the end not matter what I will loose on him and this could be a good thing. He has also confirmed to me that he posts on the internet about me and as such this forces me to keep on offering him a service level that any other customer would tip me for. I am stuck, if I complain or do not offer what this customer wants this will effect my money as for sure he will tell my boss and he will post about me on the intent not being good anymore. I feel trapped. If I work with him I loose money compared to most customers and he keeps on coming in, again and again and again.

Customer point of view.
I come in to this same lady every time so I do not feel the need to offer a tip even though if another lady offered me the service standard she does I would normally give one. It is enough that I keep on coming to her again and again and again. I also post about her on the internet which means she will get more clients from me.

My point now not the customers. Not only is this dickhead not tipping the lady even though she deserves it, he also telling other cheap asses that he does not tip so they then feel the need not to tip.

Added working girls point of view.
I am not sure what is happening recently. The customers that normal offer me tips have stopped, this seemed to happen about 1 week after the none tipping customer that writes about me on the internet told me he did his first one. I have not stopped giving my same service and for the last few days I have been trying harder. It seems no matter how hard I try the tipping has stopped. Not sure what to do next? Maybe change my nick name and move on to another place.

This is a true story about a working girl in a very popular oil massage parlour in the soi 24 area

Categories: The Truth Report

Like us all we have taken ladies out of gogo bars, beer bars, massage joints. I am sure we have also all taken ladies off the street and then confirmed a price with them before taking her to do what we want to do with them, which is their job.

All of the above are a set price and it is the norm if a great time is had by the client that a small to big tip is given. This also is for the street walker as if she said yes to 2000 baht for all the nasty things you want to do to her and she did that bit more, then maybe you can give an extra 1000 and wow… will she be happy.

Over the years I have heard some Outrages reasons for not giving that little bit extra if the customer in this situation feels it would be worth it and should be offered. Here are some of the reasons I have heard and I have attached them to the places where they got the ladies from and I have explained it from the working girls side.

1 This lady was taken from a massage parlour where her fee is 1500 baht for full service normally with a parlour fine of 2000 baht which the lady gets nothing of.

Client: I gave her no tip even though I would have normally but as she was so good I thought I would do something special for her so I took her away to the Islands on holiday. “SHE” stayed in a 5 star hotel which is worth more than any tip I would have given her if we stayed in Bangkok. I asked her many times do you like the hotel and she said yes with a smile.
Lady: I was taken away from my home area and I had to work with the client for 7 days with no money. I explained to him that I was loosing money by staying with him and he replied, “but I am paying for your holiday”. I could not see about the holiday part as I was in a strange hotel with western style food that I do not like and my customer wanted sex with me 5 times a day which is more than what I would have done at work. We had to fly to the Island and I do not like flying. For the 7 days I lost a lot of money and I had to work for free and eat food I do not like in an area I do not like. This is the third time I have been taken away and this hotel was nice but not as nice as others I have stayed in. Could we not have stayed in lower style hotel, I could have found one and maybe I could have had a little money for working. He kept on asking me is the hotel nice, I could not tell him no.

2 This lady was taken from a gogo bar in Soi cowboy.

Client: I confirmed a price to the lady for her services which was 1500 baht for over night (a good deal I thought) She gave me one of the best nights I have ever had with a working girl in Bangkok. It was worth giving her some extra money but instead I took her to buffet breakfast at my hotel at the JW Marriott. It is expensive but great food and I did not mind paying for this for her as she deserved it.

Lady: I worked really hard with this customer for a very low price but I had not had many customers this month. I had learned off a friend that if I work that little harder then many customers will give a little extra to me so I tried it this time. No luck with this customer, what made it worse was he woke me up very very early and made me go to an open area western breakfast, all the food was greasy and not to my liking. My customer asked did I like the food and I had to say yes as it looked very expensive. 700 baht I found out per person. I would have liked to have gone to the street stall near my apartment and eat joke for 30baht. If the customer gave me the 700 baht this would have been amazing, I could have feed myself for breakfast for a month on that. Maybe I should not try to make customers as happy so I do not get forced to eat bad expensive food.

3 This lady was taken from a soapy massage parlour that ask for 5000 for the lady and the lady gets a portion of this but nothing like a full days money she would make working for the day.

Client: amazing service from my lady, I am thinking about taking her again when I come back to Thailand, she was a real darling. To show my appreciation instead of giving tips, I took her to a show 1000 baht, 3 meals in hi-class restaurants at least 2000 baht per person per place, then to a disco which we had a bill of 5000 baht from.

Lady: I worked all day and night with the customer, I was taken to some real old traditional boring Thai shows, some restaurants with really greasy expensive western style food that made me feel sick, even the Thai food was bad. I tried to get away from him for 10 minutes so I could get some street BBQ but he would not let me leave him alone. The end of the night the customer took me to a disco full of other working girls that looked at me like dirt and he spent so much money in there. After a hard days work, he then wanted sex 5 times before I could leave in the morning. He offered no money for me taking him around to all these places that “HE” wanted me to go to. This is ok as he was my customer but a little tip would have made me loosing so much money for going with him all day and night a little more easy to forget. He spent at least 10000 baht on things that were really bad. If he gave me a little extra money, I would have kept him in the hotel all day and made it a better day for him I promise :) . Also he could have given me 500 baht and I would have brought him some real Thai food to his hotel room and served it to him in the special way that I know that all men love.

I am sure many people that read these articles live in Thailand like us and I am sure one of the underground hidden things that I am sure play in the mind of the expatriate and tourist alike is…..The ladies that make good money, as in more than enough to take care of the family and more than enough for them to have a good life style, maybe even save a little, where does the rest of the money go???. One of my top ladies make’s easy over 200000 Baht a month and this is a low estimation. If she is busy and puts her mind to it, as in best clothing, top makeup and works hard with her clients and gets tipped well then for sure she makes more money than I can in a month.

20000 Baht home to the family.
12000 Baht lavish living cost etc etc
10000 Baht apartment rest,
10000 Loan on a car repayment
3000 Phone bill

Well that leaves a lot of spare change does it not?
Where does it go?

This is the one that when I found out I really did not believe it and I had to go see it for myself.

One night I even seen members of my staff doing this.
Well all the money goes on…… here it is, working men. This business is massive, so big I had even thought about going into it myself. You open a place, get some ads out to the gogo bars and massage parlous and ladies turn up in big numbers, as long as you have young white skinned men, the money comes in and it comes in allot. Women with over 100000 baht a month to spend on men and they want a lot of them. The places that specialise in working men for Thai working girls charge over 300 baht a small coke and you do not even want to know about the cost of taking these guys out for a session.

I met a male working guy that is a member of staff on one of these places that takes care of working ladies and the cash this guy makes is out of this world. He supports some habits, 2 cars, bought his own house, supports his family and others around him as well as going through university and he is only 23. He will retire from work in 3 years and by then he will have bought his own businesses note business pleural, he already owns a 100 table snooker hall but he explained this is really a gift for his older brother. He has at least 3 older lady sponsors that work in some of the more famous oil massage parlours near the suk soi 24 area.

This is such a lucrative market that one of the large gogo bar owners in soi cowboy and nana plaza owns there own male shop for Thai working girls and have very cleverly advertised this to there ladies as in without their staff knowing it is owned by them. The owners take the bar fines and the drinks money and now that are feeding off the earnings of their staff which they earn from the clients that bar fine them. Kind of recycling the same cash back to them. Smart move.

You need to think about this, after a popular lady has had her 5 customers in that day she then leaves with her friends and off to a late man bar on Ratchada or Tow in Town, then she has another 2 guys but these 2 guys are her style and she is paying for them to do it to her. Also many of the sponsored ladies as in not working in a gogo or parlour but have a rich older none thai looking after them, can be found spending this months cash on young white skinned Chinese looking men.

Sweet dreams.

The reason for the ferang charge in some massage parlours.

One of the things that really p*sses me off is moaners, yes I am one but I make sure if I moan about something it is something that I know enough about to grant me the right to moan about it.

The main moan I have read on forums is about the “Ferang Extra Charge” in the mostly Thai oriented parlours. The beef seems to be that customers do not like the idea that because you are not from SEA you will be charged more and the business that you are visiting is just trying to rip a certain creed of people off. Let me explain you can not be more far from the truth.

I go out about once a month with Thai buddies. My Thai associates are not well to do but not poor either. When we go out we make our way to places like La Bella (who have just put their ferang charge up to 1000 baht) Poseidon and Emanuel. We walk in and tip the doorman, we sit down order 2 bottles of high end branded whiskey (Jonnie Gold) mixers and tip the waitress. The papa comes over we ask for a set of ladies and a VIP area, he takes us to it, brings the ladies and we tip him. Now out of our group of 5 we have not even taken any ladies yet and our bill is about 15000-20000 baht and we have tipped 3000 baht minimum.

We sit in our suite drinking our whiskey and we have about 7 ladies with us, we sing some tunes on the karaoke and while the ladies are with us we give them 1000 baht tip each for the pleasure of their company. We send a few away and take one each into the bedrooms that are connected to the VIP suite. We have sex one them and maybe a massage, I tip my lady 1000-2000 baht. We all meet up have a few drinks in the lounge area of our VIP suite. Pay our bill, tip the person that brought us the bill, then we tip the papasan. Also I missed, we tip the maid.

Now let me explain the normal none Thai that goes to such places. You walk in and ask the price. You are shown 3 areas of varying prices. You spend most of your time looking at the cheap girls and you do not find one you like. You order 1 beer or a coke. Not tipping anyone so far. You move to the next price level and find one you like, you call the papa over, (that you have not tipped) and asked him for a discount. He says no. You then go to the top level area and you see many ladies you like and you call over a new papasan (again no tip) and ask for a cheaper price and the answer is no.

You then reluctantly go down to the mid price lady and take her to a room. Not a vip suite but a standard room. You do not offer the lady a drink and you have offered no tips so far. You get in to the room and into a tub with your lady, you try from start to end to get her to swallow your sperm, F*uck her in the mouth, then you get her to the bed and B*ng the crap out of her. You then, as the ladies treatment of you was not as good as other places geared towards none SEA clients leave p*ssed off and leave no tip.

Now look at these 2 stores. If you was the parlour and or the working girl, which customer do you prefer? Let’s not even go into the money maid by the house, let’s think about the lady. She has to work more hard for and you offer no tip. This is an easy choice for the lady, you just refuse to work with none SEA customers. If the company you work for makes you work with them then you leave and go to a new place as there are lots to choose from. Of course places that forced this issue can not keep the better looking ladies. The way some places do keep them though so they can none SEA clients is put an extra charge on the total fee compared to what is normally charged for none SEA clients. This is split between the the house and the lady (at varying percents) so a lady is asked, “do you want to work with none SEA clients” answer is always, “no because they do not tip” the house explains, “do not worry, we will give you an extra 500 baht(example) for working with them as we know it is harder work and they do not tip”. Then a lot more ladies say, “ok I will work with them then”.

Happy Hunting.
