Denial and Revenge

By: TPE II On January 27, 2010

Hi guys, it’s me again.
This week I want touch on a subject that most, if not all have all here have thought about at one time or another…
DENIAL.

Denial is a real phenomenon that I encounter all the time in this job, and I don’t mean the big River in Africa!
How many have heard or even spoken the words…
But, she is special!
But, she is different!
But, she said she loves only me!

If I had just one Baht for every time I have heard the above I would have a lot more money in my pocket to spend on the fantasy we all enjoy than I have now…

Denial of the truth is an affliction brought on by a curious human conditioning that makes us want to believe the unbelievable.

Just take religion for example…
It takes some wild and wacky imagination to actually believe that an invisible man in the sky created all that we see and feel around us, then he said “Let there be light”!
Sooo we are now asked to believe he did it all in the dark!    Some neat trick…

Then at the end of the book (That the creator had no hand in writing) someone talks about a lamb with 7 horns and 7 eyes… Come on get real, who the fuck expects anyone to believe that shit!  What were these guys smoking when they wrote that garbage?

I am not knocking religion.  It’s a necessary evil created by the clever few to control the mindless masses. At the end of the day, it’s everyone’s free choice to believe in whatever or whomever they chose.

I am just trying to point out that it is basic human nature to want to believe that things are nice and rosy, when all the time we are blinded by our inner feelings and we can’t see the real truth.  That is what this little essay is about.  The truth…

Most if not all educated people with a Christian upbringing harbor a deep seated desire to find all that is good in another human being, no matter what! Even a little exposure to any religion at an early age has profound effects in later life even if we don’t know it!

So deep down we desperately want to believe that that person on their knees (use your imagination) professing their undying love for us as individuals really means it. Especially if she (or he) looks like butter would not melt in their mouths.  Plus if they also have a nice tits and ass that will help cement the illusion we have created for ourselves…

But, ignoring the fact that the ugly truth is out there slapping guys in the face time and time again not staring, slapping, in the form of lies and deceit and even more lies, some guys still go willingly to the slaughter like a young deer caught in the headlights of a speeding car.
A car I may add that was probably paid for by the frightened deer and is in her name!!
It’s only a matter of time until the big collision, then its game over!

Our injured deer is left standing in the middle of the highway of life all bloodied, broke and disillusioned. But the loss of pride and self worth is a deep wound to heal. A wound that will fester for many months, or even years, taking a further toll on the general health and well being of our poor innocent victim.

The loving feeling he once had for the driver of the car that knocked him down now turns to loathing feelings, and eventually that ugly little voice in his head speaks of revenge.

*Revenge, that may even be my subject next week.

It is strange when one thinks about it, first he (our love hungry deer) thinks he is the hunter, but not for long.
Without him even knowing it, the roles have been reversed and he becomes the hunted, he becomes the prey, and his hunter is the sexual predator affectingly known as a “Bar Girl” or “Free lancer” or “Go-Go bar girl” or even the “shop assistant/hair dresser/nurse/student/hi-so girl”…
The list is endless in this game of cat and mouse, but the goal remains the same, the accumulation of wealth through various avenues of cash flow. The game only stops when the money runs out…

The goals are the same, and the game remains the same but there are no rules.
Even if there were rules, and we knew those rules today they would be useless tomorrow because they change and vary according to the given situation (too many factors to mention here) and of course the experience of the huntress (sexual predator)…

And yes, there is a cure, a cure for some, but not for all, it’s called a reality check…

That is what we at TPE provide, a reality check of the highest order…

I never cease to be amazed at the fortitude and the entrepreneurial flair shown by some poorly educated rice farmer’s daughter when she encounters, for example, an educated successful banker, a financial wizard, a veritable icon in the commercial world of finance and industry. And yet there he is caught up in the headlights of whirlwind fantasy that he himself created. He just doesn’t know it yet!

I don’t know who said it but this has got to be one of the most truthful statements out there…
“It’s not the lies they tell us! It’s the lies we tell ourselves that are the most dangerous!”

If he could only stop for one minute, take a step backwards and a take deep breathe he may just get that reality check in time to move out of the way of that speeding car.

Smoke and mirrors guys smoke and mirrors…

I welcome any further discussion about this or any other subject on the forum.

The Oil Massage Bullshit

By: The Truth On January 23, 2010

Last week I did soapy and since some posts have arrived about Oil places on the forum let’s explain where your money goes in an oil shop.

Again all of these things do not happen in all places and numbers move up and down depending on the place/owner. I can tell you though, the more popular places get targeted more by the, “people we do not want to talk about”, so the fees that staff have to pay are higher to balance this out compared to less targeted places. For example a quite place, the people that we do not like to talk about, pay no attention to, a popular place, the people that we do not want like to talk about pay more attention to, so the fees for the staff are higher to balance this out.

Most oil places work on a 30 minute system. This is 300 baht for 30 minutes. So a 2 hour session would work out at 1200 baht fee to the house. 0.00 baht goes to the member of staff that you have chosen, or are given in some cases.

Before a women starts that day she needs to buy a “tagar” basket of goodies. The house charges the lady about 100 baht a day or even a session. Some of the more up scale oil places may charge the lady for make-up like soapy’s, also 100 baht a day or even a session.

For a 2 hours session first of the day the lady will pay 150 baht transport to work,100 baht “tagar” and 100 baht make-up, so she is already minus 350 baht for the day already. You go to your room and are offered drinks, the same as a soapy. Now the cleaners in oil places again for the most are working for free and work off tips from the customers or if the customer offers no tip to the maid, when lady leaves the room, the maid before cleaning and adding new sheets will ask your lady for money, maybe 50 baht. It has now become popular for the some oil places to offer free soft drinks, as most oil shop customers did not want to buy drinks in the room, this meant the maids we not getting tips off the customers, saying the drinks are free pushes the case with the client thus giving the opportunity for the maid having face time with the client and the tip maybe offered. The drinks are not free and the cost of the drinks even though at cost price for the most comes out at a later from your ladies pocket. Your lady has not even started to work yet and she is in debt for at worst case 450 baht for the day.

You have your session and all is well, you pay the fee of 1500 baht to the lady. What is not know by most people is the lady does not get 1500 baht, she gets 1100 as the house takes a customers finders fee off the lady. So in total the lady will get for her 2 hours work 650 baht.

Even though on the surface it seems ladies working in oil parlours get more money than some of the soapy’s in the end it is about the same. What makes a staff stay in one place not another is down to one thing, extra benefits. Most soapy’s offer more than oil places due to infrastructure but this is not always the case.

Total charge for the customer 2300 for 2 hours and in the end the lady may only get 650 baht depending on the place itself. The house through all it’s scheming get’s 1650 baht.

Next week Gogo Bars.

This week’s article is about, where does the money go to in a soapy? What I post below is not for all Soapy’s as some differ as in only a few of these things happen. Also I have left out some for other practices for future weeks articles. For the most this is how it works.
I will explain some events first, these events will be numbered. I will then give the reason why these happen and they will have a corresponding number below.

1 When you walk in and ask the mama or papa for a recommendation they always seem to recommend the same 3 or 4 ladies. No matter if you change what services you are looking for, it is the same ladies time and time again.

2 Over the last few years it has become very fashionable to tip the mama or papa that has given you the recommendation. After you have chosen the lady and you are about to pay the lady of your choice asks you “do you not want to tip the papa or mamam”.

3 When you are in the room the lady asks you if you want a drink. An old lady comes in and gives you your order and kind of hangs around for a tip if you do not offer one. I normally give one anyway. If you did not give a tip to the old lady bringing in the drinks when you walk out of the room after your secession is hanging around the door as soon as you walk out and talks to the lady of you choice.

1a Papa’s and mama’s before a lady starts a shift will go up to the lady and say I will only recommend you today if you pay me, if you do not pay me I will not recommend you and or if a customer asks about you I will say, “not good service no”. This can be a payment before the start of a shift in some places or it can be once the customer agrees to take you.

2b As the lady has to pay the mama or papa for the recommendation if the customer tips the mama or papa then the mama or papa’s commission off the lady is lowered based on the amount of tip you give them, thus the tip really in the end is a tip to the lady beforehand. Offering this tip 70% of the time will ensure you get a better standard of performance of the lady. Well that is not really true, not offering this tip will mean a 95% chance your up and coming session will be shit.

3c Cleaning ladies in Soapy’s work for free and the live off the money that the working ladies give them. Many of the cleaning ladies are X working girls themselves that have gone past there work date. The fee you pay the house is for the premises and the laundering etc but not the staff that take care of the place. The your lady has to pay for the cleaning staff that prepare the room for her and her customer and take the sheets off the beds and put new clean ones on. This is why if you do not take a drink or if you do take a drink and do not tip the old lady she is standing outside waiting for a tip of the women of your choice. Offering this tip to the lady that brings you the drink is in the end a tip for the lady offering you service. So back to 2b, offering this tip does not mean you get better service but not offering it means a 95% chance you will not get a good session.

If you put this all together for the working lady. You pay the house for example 2000 baht she may get 800 baht then she has to give the papa for advising her 300 baht (this is before she screwed him before she went to work). Before she starts she has to get her make-up done and this is normally done by a house elected make-up artist that charges the lady maybe 200 baht.  Travel to work and back 150 baht.  Cleaning lady tip 40 baht. Some places even charge the lady for the oils and soapy etc 100 baht a day.
So out of the 800 baht she how has only 10 baht, if you do not tip the list so far. If you do not tip her in the room for her services she has just spent an hour and half with you for 10 baht. Then it starts again when she leaves the room. New makeup, new sheets, new papa tip etc etc etc.
Please do not post on the forum section, “tell me where item 3 does not happen or item 1 etc etc as I do not like it” because I will not tell you.
Next week the oil parlous.  Just as bad or worse, let’s see.

Hello to all the readers out there.  I must apologies for not posting my article last week. I was away overseas working on an assignment.  Needless to say it all went smoothly.
This week I wanted to bring to your attention a part of the law in Thailand that not many people know about and one that may be important for those Expat’s who live in Thailand full time, or those intending to visit Thailand or settle in Thailand with Thai children.
Read carefully as it could affect your life drastically if you are unaware of the legal situation.
I am not criticizing Thailand or its Laws in any way.  I am just brining this information to your attention. I have also added links to official sites as references to my article

Be safe and be happy.

Be aware!

Parental Kidnapping is not a crime in Thailand!

International Parental Child Abduction

DISCLAIMER: The information in this flyer relating to the legal requirements of specific foreign countries is provided for general information only. Questions involving interpretation of specific foreign laws should be addressed to foreign legal counsel.

GENERAL INFORMATION: Parental Kidnapping is not a crime in Thailand and Thai authorities will not issue a warrant or become involved should one parent take a child without the other parent’s authorization.  The Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction cannot be invoked if a child is taken from the United States to Thailand, or vice versa, by one parent against the wishes of the other parent or in violation of a U.S. custody order.

CHILD CUSTODY:  Under Thai law, the question of child custody is addressed in Book Five of the Thai Civil and Commercial Code under the general headings Termination of Marriage and Rights and Duties of Parent and Child .  The relevant portions of the law follow in full:

Section 1520.
In case of divorce by mutual consent, the agreement for the exercise of parental power over each of the children shall be made in writing.  In the absence of such agreement or (if) an agreement thereon cannot be reached, the matter shall be decided by the court.

In case of divorce by judgment of the court, the parental power belongs to the party in whose favor the judgment is given, unless it is decided by the court that the parental power shall belong to the other party, or that a third person shall be the guardian.

Section 1521.

If it appears that the guardian as provided in Section 1520 behaves himself or herself improperly or there is a change of circumstances after the appointment, the court has the power, after taking into consideration the happiness and interest of the child, to give an order appointing a new guardian.

Although the parental power belongs to one party, the other has the right to continue such personal relation with the child as may be reasonable according to the circumstances.

Section 1522.

In the case of divorce by mutual consent, an arrangement shall be made and contained in the agreement of divorce as to who, both of the spouses or either spouse, will contribute to the maintenance of the children and how much is the contribution.  In case of divorce by judgment of the court or in case the agreement of divorce contains no provisions concerning the maintenance of the children, the court shall determine it.

Section 1566.

A child is subject to parental power as long as he is not sui juris.  The parental power is exercised by the father or the mother in any of the following cases:

(1) The father or mother is dead;

(2) It is uncertain whether the father or the mother is living or dead;

(3) The father or the mother has been adjudged incompetent or quasi-incompetent;

(4) The father or the mother is placed in a hospital by reason of mental infirmity;

(5) The parental power has been granted to the father or the mother by an order of the court.

The parental power is exercised by the mother, when the child was born out of wedlock and has not yet been legitimated by the father according to Section 1547.

Section 1567.

A person exercising parental power has the right:

(1) to determine the child’s place of residence

(2) to punish the child in a reasonable manner for disciplinary purposes;

(3) to require the child to do such work as may be reasonable to his ability and condition in life,

(4) to demand the return of the child from any person who unlawfully detains him.

As shown above, the question of child custody under Thai law is addressed mainly in the context of termination of marriage.  It is therefore difficult to speculate about what kind of stance the Thai courts would take toward a custody decision made in the absence of the termination of a marriage, e.g., in the event of a legal separation.

As a matter of law, foreigners are treated on an equal basis with Thai citizens in matters relating to child custody.  Thai law makes no distinction between the rights of the father and mother on issues of child custody.

ENFORCEMENT OF FOREIGN ORDERS: Foreign orders (including U.S. custody orders) are not enforced/enforceable in Thailand.  American citizens who travel to Thailand place themselves under the jurisdiction of Thai courts.  If a taking parent chooses to remain in Thailand with a child or leave a child behind in Thailand, the U.S. Embassy cannot force either the taking parent or the Thai Government to return the child to the United States.   American citizens planning a trip to Thailand with dual national children should bear this in mind.

ACQUIRING THAI NATIONALITY: The Thai Nationality Act, Doc No. 2, B.E. 2535 (1992), states that any child born in Thailand of at least one Thai-citizen parent is a Thai citizen.   If the child is born outside of Thailand, and has at least one Thai-citizen parent, the Thai parent can report the birth of the child to the nearest Thai Embassy or Consulate and the child will acquire Thai citizenship.

SPECIAL COURTS: Juvenile and Family Courts to hear custody cases can be found only in Bangkok and a few of the larger cities in Thailand

THAI PASSPORTS FOR CHILDREN: Parents wishing to obtain a Thai passport for their child must present a Birth Certificate (for children under14 years-old) or Thai identity card (for children between 15-20 years-old) of the child, the House Registration Certificate and the identity cards of mother and father.   Both parents must accompany their minor child during the application process.   In case one of the parents is unable to be present, he/she must sign a letter of consent, which must be brought to the office by the other parent and the minor.

PASSPORT APPLICATIONS FOR MINORS: A person applying for a U.S. passport for a child under 16 must demonstrate that both parents or legal guardians consent to the issuance of a passport to the child or that the applying parent has sole authority to obtain the passport. This law covers passport applications made at domestic U.S. passport agencies in the United States and at U.S. consular offices abroad. Exceptions to this requirement may be made in special family circumstances or exigent circumstance necessitating the immediate travel of the child. The purpose of the new requirement that both parents’ consent be demonstrated is to lessen the possibility that a U.S. passport might be used in the course of an international parental child abduction.

CHILDREN’S PASSPORT ISSUANCE ALERT PROGRAM: Separate from the two-parent signature requirement for U.S. passport issuance, parents may also request that their children’s names be entered in the U.S. passport name-check system, also know as Children’s Passport Issuance Alert Program (CPIAP). A parent or legal guardian can be notified by the Department of State before a passport is issued to his/her minor child.

MORE INFORMATION: The State Department has general information about hiring a foreign attorney, service of process, and enforcement of child support and the international enforcement of judgments, which supplement the country-specific information provided in this flyer.  In addition, the State Department publishes Country Specific Information for every country in the world, providing information such as location of the U.S. Embassy, health conditions, political situations, and crime reports.  When situations in a country are sufficiently serious, the State Department issues Travel Alerts or Travel Warnings that may recommend U.S. citizens defer travel to that country.  These documents are available on the Internet at: http://travel.state.gov or by the toll-free number, 1-888-407-4747, between 8:00 a.m.  – 8:00 p.m. Eastern time, Monday thru Friday (except U.S. holidays).

Ps. Do not kill the messenger!

This is for all you Ratchada guys and also of recent Annie’s fans.

What is a sideline?

It is a common miss belief that a sideline lady or a super star in a parlor is the better looking or younger model. Well this is bullshit. The super stars or Sideline ladies are ladies that get more customers than other staff do.

Having all your staff in a busy parlor at the same price does not work well. If a business is a slow one then same pricing works. Remember a massage parlors stock to sell is its ladies. If you could buy a Jaguar for the same price as a beaten up old Saab, I am sure we would all be buying Jag’s all the time. This means in a parlor that the same top 10 ladies would be shagged to death, get rich and leave a business fast and the older or less attractive ladies, that in the room maybe better would be poor and also leave fast. Even though split pricing of course help the margins of a business it also helps the lesser attractive ladies or less experienced ladies gain work and the superstars of the business gain the same or similar salary for less work. This meaning a busy parlor can keep its attractive staff for longer and its less attractive staff for longer also with losing profits .

From a customers point of view you may think that this is a bad thing but in the end it is not. Retail pricing is set by supply and demand. The demand for a product goes up the price goes up, The demand for a product goes down the price goes down, Lady Nit is always in demand, the price goes up and she is less in demand. This works both ways, if the pricing for lady Nit is too high then the parlor will put her pricing down as her demand is not high enough to warrant her working there. For the customer let’s say you only like lady Nit but every time you come in she is busy. Do not worry putting her price up means when you walk in because she is less busy most of the time now you have more chance of seeing her.

This also means a busy Parlour that is not run by fools can use supply and demand to control customer and staff flow allowing for a better work experience for its staff and better choice for its customers.

The story of Jan

By: The Truth On January 4, 2010

One of the reasons I got into this industry is not the most common one. Yes I make money, yes it is fun sometimes but this not common reason is “I do not like it”. Strange I know…… Let me explain, when growing up there where quite a few working houses around me and I got to know the staff and the one thing I hated was the way the staff were treated, not only by the house but by the customers.

All of my businesses and the ones I am involved with protect our staff at all costs. Our staff are the reason we are here. In my mind this business can not be taken away, it will always be in the world no matter so if you can not beat them, join them and try and make a difference from within. So I did.

As I have posted before, every week we the owners of this forum and blog will post info and experiences that we have had. I will be interviewing people in the industry, they maybe other owners, they maybe staff. Today I am going to post the story of one lady (in short form just so ideas can be out there)

I met recently a very smart lovely lady and here are some of the things she told me. For sure I will not give her real name away and where she works as some of the info is not so nice.

Jane is 24 and from Isaan and has been working in gogo bars since a young age. She has now settled for 1 year in a gogo in nana plaza. She gets ok money and the place treats her better than others have done in the past. The owners are friendly and also treat most of the girls well. She tries to avoid heavy drinking and bad customers where she can but of course this job does not allow her to do this all the time.

She explained to me the fierce rivalry that some of the bars have as in internally between ladies. It is all about face and money and anyway you can push another girl down is a taken and is seen as a victorious advantage. She moved around many bars to find the one where she is now.

The most interesting things she explained to me during our interview was some of the bad moments with customers.

Story 1: She was bar fined and taken to a hotel where she agreed a price of 2500 for LT. Performance of her normal standard was taken and the customer was happy. Then this more mature man decided he wanted more sessions which as she is an experienced lady she has no problems with and through the very long night there was at least 5 sessions. She was very tied and needed to get a little sleep. She actually was woken up by her customer in the night to perform some of these 5 sessions. Once the morning had come she awoke the customer and offered one more session to the delight of him. She then showered got her clothes together ready for her trip back home. Once she had come out of the shower and put her clothes on she asked about the agreed fee for her services. He laughed and said “piss off” and pushed her out the door.  I asked her is this common. Her reply was, not common but it has been happening more in year 2009 than others and she truthfully explained to me her services have not changed and she is known as one of the better ladies for service in Nana plaza.

Story 2: Moving from bar to bar does not mean working 2 months no days off then strait to a new one, as many times these ladies move it is due to the fact they have found themselves a small time sponsor and they need to move. Jane found herself a nice man, an owner of a business in this industry actually. They where getting on well and she was under the impression this could be forever. Over time she noticed his behaviour change from nice to medium to really bad and she also noticed on the tail end of her time with him that he was a trusty in modern chemistry. As soon as she found this out as she is a smart girl she tried to end the relationship for him to explain to her that if she left before he wanted the relationship to be over he would use his connections and would make sure the rest of her working life in this industry would be very bad indeed. ( I have been quite polite with that description of what he said to her) Also he then added quite a few injuries to her.

Of course all the above information I have not gone into too much details due to prying eyes and of course not all things can be posted on the front page of a site like this but I assume you get the idea.

The moral of this story is these ladies, young old, fat, thin are still ladies. They are someone’s daughter, they are real people and they are trying to make the best of there life as they can. An extra tip of 1000 baht maybe be nothing to you but a fortune to some. Not even paying an agreed amount for one of these ladies means she not only lost on that money but also maybe another customer that would have offered her more and maybe been a sponsor.

If you are going to play, play nice and it is returned to you 10 fold. Thai people I have found over time even though they maybe over dramatic enjoy making others happy, all you need to do is reciprocate.

A quick hello from jack

By: Jack On January 1, 2010

Hello

My name is Jack I am the IT guy behind Bangkoknights.com. A brief background on me:
I was born in the Middle East but my family are Japanese. Before you ask I do not speak Japanese and I have lived all my life (but for the last 15 years in Thailand) in different countries around the world. We, as in my family never stayed in one country for a long period of time, mainly due to my fathers work.

I’m a netrepreneur and I own, are you ready for this Porn sites. Now everyone please do not start asking me about content as everyone with 2 brain cells knows it illegal to make content in Thailand. Content for my companies is made in the US and I have to fly regularly backwards and forwards from Thailand to California from production. No I do not take part we are professional and I would be shit at the job. No way am I big enough and no way could I keep it going that long. The work itself in mind numbingly boring and like everything even in the main stream movie industry, it is all smoke and mirrors. We have stunt cocks, fluffer’s, makeup artist the works all to make the actors look like stars, not like what they are which is normal guys and gals like you and me.

My section of Bangkoknights.com will be updates on general internet stuff that effect’s us living here and also new developments in my industry. Where to get the best free stuff, which are the best pay sites, that work in Thailand and how to get them at better prices etc.

If you have any questions like all the other 4 please ask me on the forum.

Jack

Thai Private Eye has been in operation in Thailand since 1993 (almost 17 years now) and I am pleased to be asked to post on this brand new Information Forum (Bangkok Nights Forum)… So to kick things off I will start with a bit of general information about the life of a Private Eye in Thailand. I have lost count of how many times people have asked me the question! What is it like to be a Thai Private Eye?”

First thing they ask…
“Is it fun?”
I would not exactly say it is fun, but it certainly is most enjoyable.

“Is it exciting?”
It can be exciting or extremely boring. It all depends upon your personal outlook. But one thing is for sure, it is challenging!

“What exactly is it do you do?”
We simply try to find out the truth!

Sometimes we spend long hours maybe even several days of mind numbing boredom hanging round for the subject to appear. Sometimes, we work in uncomfortable environments, long hot sticky nights, and even longer, hotter sweat drenched days… When you need to go to the toilet, you try your best to hold it in, because you can be sure that after 8hrs watching and waiting the moment you take your eyes off site, the subject will move and you’ve missed them… So then you spend countless wasted hours not knowing if in fact the subject is still there. That is why I try to insist on at least 2 operatives on any surveillance! And then all of a sudden, BINGO! The subject comes into sight and the action starts… The adrenalin rush is intense! Everything is in place and should, hopefully, go according to plan. But then to complicate matters the subject does something totally unexpected, something you had not calculated into the equation and that is when all the training pays off. Maybe! The need to be able to improvise and resolve problems on the run. This is a pre-requisite in this job.
Sometimes you can rock up to a job and it kicks off right on schedule and runs like clockwork. One just never knows. Either way the adrenaline rush is like nothing you can ever imagine. The exhilaration of the chase is almost as good as sex! I said almost!
In a strange sort of way I love it, and yet I also hate it… I love it when things go according it plan. I hate it when it goes tits up, especially through no fault of our own. Being a PI anywhere in the world is not an easy job. But operating in Thailand is a whole different ball game. The heat and the humidity will drain your energy very quickly. Even just sitting in a vehicle for a few hours with the windows up and no Air Con is exhausting! Just try it…
You may ask why no Air Con? Answer: So as not to get noticed…
You can’t really sit in a (supposedly empty) vehicle with the engine running for hours on end and remain unnoticed… Neighbors, passers by, kids, even the dogs will notice you with the engine running… And if the Soi dogs know you are in there they will hang around on the off chance you have some food for them… Unless they are dodging Tuk Tuk’s… The most important thing to remember is to continually drink lots and lots of water or you will start to dehydrate even before you know it. You also need a strong bladder as you can’t keep getting out to take a piss! So we use large necked (:-) empty 6 Liter bottles of water if we need to take a piss. But it is not that easy having to piss sitting down in the dark! You would be surprised just how much water you can store up in your bladder…
Also, it’s best to forget eating spicy food a few days before you go out on a job. Your surveillance partner may not appreciate you farting in a confined space… If you are a smoker then forget about going on covert surveillance! That is the fun of being stuck inside a vehicle! Then there is the excitement of being out in the open! It is great if you like being eaten alive by mosquitoes, or maybe bitten by a diseased, flea ridden Soi dog with a bad attitude! Or being accosted by all sorts of Bar Girls, Beggars, Drug Pushers, Lady Boys, Pickpockets, Scroungers, Tailors, Thieves, Tuk Tuk Drivers and general Degenerate Scum who think that just because you are hanging around a street corner at 04:00am you are looking for some action! We have been offered all manner of things in the early hours when all we really want is to be tucked up in a nice cool air conditioned room in a nice big bed with cold crisp cotton sheets and a nice warm girl… Don’t even ask about Go-Go bars and Beer bars… They are no fun either. Imagine just sitting there (sober) looking out for a particular girl when you keep getting distracted by even better looking girls who want you to take them home… But you can’t take one home because you’re on somebody else’s dime and they are paying you to be there in a professional capacity.
I am sure some of the girls think I am gay! Stop! Don’t even go there! Maybe when I sell up and retire I will make it a hobby to visit Go-Go bars for fun. But for now I have to pay the rent. The point I am trying to get across here is that some of you may imagine that we have the Magnum PI life style but the reality is that it’s bloody hard work and long hours.
Having said all that, there is a lot of satisfaction when it all comes together and you achieve the results you set out to achieve.

Let me introduce myself, my name is Jon-Luke.
I have been a share holder in many bars and massage parlours around the world since the age of 22. money left to me from my Papa. After selling all my shares in my businesses in the USA and UK I moved to Thailand where I have been in involved in Bars and massage parlours since 2001.
The aim for my section in Bangkoknights.com is to give insider information as in from the horses mouth about how things work here and in this industry as in Bars, Gogo bars, Soapy massage and oil massage places, the works.
My reports on the front blog section will not put anyone place or business in a better light but rather help the consumer/visitor or expat alike, make better decisions and understand why the at first annoying things that may happen sometimes, when taking your pleasures in Bangkok are actually done for reason then explain why they are in place and how you may be able to use them to your advantage, once you are aware of them.
I will add though that when I post in the forum my personnel opinion may come out sometimes but I will try and keep it in check.
